Long-running saga of Marko Grujic came to an end moments earlier when he was officially unveiled as a Liverpool player.
The talented 19-year has been tipped to have a big future in coming years and Liverpool have pulled off a real coup by signing the Serbian Under-21 star.
Grujic has been in fine form this season, scoring 5 goals in 21 games which has helped Red Star Belgrade to a top place in the Serbian Super Liga.
Grujic was excited following his move to Liverpool. Speaking in his first interview, he said: “I’m very excited and so proud to be here and a member of Liverpool Football Club. I can’t wait to get started, play at Anfield and train at Melwood.
“I was thinking about my progress in my next period and decided it was good for me to come here and try to be the best I can.
“I want to play in front of one of the loudest set of fans in Europe at Anfield.
“I also like the atmospheres at other stadiums, the crowds are very good. I like to play under pressure and that’s why I’ve come here – because it brings out the best in me.”
For now, he will go back to Red Star Belgrade and complete the ongoing season and will join Liverpool at the start of next season.
