Liverpool have reached an agreement with Serie A side Udinese over the transfer of highly rated midfield star Piotr Zielinski, according to reports from Calciomercato.

The reports suggest that Liverpool will meet player’s representatives later today and will finalize the remaining terms of the contract which will see the 21-year old make a move to Anfield this summer.

According to Polish newspaper Przeglad Sportowy, the deal is expected to be made official in next 24 hours which will make Zielinski Liverpool’s first midfield signing of the summer.

The Poland International star has spent last couple of seasons out on loan at Serie A outfit Empoli, where he has impressed everyone with his combative style of play.

Although a designated midfielder player, Zielinski has chipped in with goals and assists this season. The 21-year old managed 5 goals and 7 assists from 37 appearances for the Serie A club and is now tipped to join Jurgen Klopp’s Anfield revolution next season.

The move was all but confirmed by Udinese’s sporting director Cristiano Giaretta last month when he claimed a concrete interest from Liverpool and even admitted to a £12million bid from The Reds.

That was followed with Zielinski posing with a Liverpool fan and opening up on the possibility of playing under Klopp, which he called as a honor.

Speaking with WhoscoredZielinski said: “Klopp is one of the best managers around and it would certainly be an honour to work with him.”

Zielinski is expected to be a Liverpool player by end of this week and will join Joel Matip and Marko Grujic as the new arrivals for Jurgen Klopp at the start of pre-season preparations ahead of the 2016/17 season.
