Roberto Firmino enjoyed his best night in a Liverpool jersey as the Brazilian scored an amazing brace inside first 25 minutes. Arsenal replied with Aaron Ramsey and Olivier Giroud (2) to go in a 3-2 lead, only to be pegged back by Welsh Pirlo Joe Allan deep in the injury time.

Mignolet: (3) – At fault for 2 Arsenal goals, new contract looked like a mistake.
Clyne: (6.5) – Energy & spark throughout the 90 minutes from the Englishman.
Toure: (6) – What he lacked in pace, made up with intelligent reading
Sakho: (6.5) – His battle with Giroud was fascinating.
Moreno: (6) – Rash at times, but effective from the wings.
Lucas: (6) – A shield for Liverpool’s defense all night.
Henderson: (6) – Looked rusty at times but showed promise for the coming games.
Can: (7) – Brightest midfielder on the night, his shot was converted by Firmino.
Lallana: (6) – Made bright runs, but not effective enough.
Ibe: (6.5) – Bright runs throughout the game, his pressure kept Monreal pegged in defense.
Firmino: (7.5) – His display as the false 9 was impeccable.

Arsenal Player Ratings vs Liverpool
Cech: (6) – He was left helpless for all 3 Liverpool goals.
Bellerin: (6) – His attacking prowess was curtailed due to Liverpool’s pressing.
Koscielny: (6.5) – Crucial defensive headers late on when Liverpool were pushing for the leveler.
Mertesacker: (6) – Like Toure, lacked pace but reading was exceptional.
Monreal: (6.5) – More focused on defending and did a fine job at that.
Flamini: (6) – Hardly noticed during the game and that was credit to his error-free game.
Ramsey: (7) – Made incisive runs from midfield and one of those led to Arsenal’s 1st goal.
Campbell: (7.5) – Mightily impressed with his précised passing and movement.
Ozil: (6.5) – Kept quite in the first half, second half was relatively better.
Giroud: (7.5) – First goal was a fluke, second was a touch of class.
