Leicester City have been by far the most intriguing story of the season which could see them win their first ever league title in club’s history. Claudio Ranieri has managed to keep his team’s focus in tact despite all the hype surrounding them.
There has been little distraction for The Foxes in terms of cup competitions this season, however, the recent International Break might pose some different questions for Premier League’s Champions elect.
For the first time this season, Leicester City players have been called for International duty, and it has left club’s manager and the fans sweating over the potential injury scares which often happens during the dreaded International friendlies.
Danny Drinkwater has been called up by England while N’Golo Kante has been asked to represent France in the upcoming rounds of International matches. It was indeed once in a lifetime opportunity for Drinkwater and Kante, as it could see them seal a spot for the upcoming Euro 2016 competition as well.
Despite all the positives surrounding their International call-up, Leicester City’s title hopes are hanging in the balance. Drinkwater and Kante are not used to training as per their national team or equipped enough to play a game at the International level.
The setup, the style of play and the demands will be entirely different for Kante and Drinkwater to manage in coming 2 weeks’ time. They have proved their metal in Premier League football, but perhaps playing for their national team could be the biggest challenge of their professional career so far.
Leicester fans would be praying for the duo’s safe return ahead of their next league game vs. Southampton on 3rd April 2016. Kante and Drinkwater have been indispensable for Leicester’s push for the title and they will be needed to be fit and ready for the remaining 8 games of the season.
