Zlatan Ibrahimovic will be the most talked about player in the upcoming summer transfer window after his decision to quit PSG at the end of current season. The 34-year old striker has been strongly linked with a move to Manchester United next season amid a reunion with Jose Mourinho.
Earlier today, Juan Mata discussed the possibility of playing along side Ibrahimovic next season, and needless to say the Spaniard is thrilled with the prospect. Mata is currently with Spain’s national where he is preparing to take on Italy later this week.
Speaking with the Spanish media, Mata said: “Zlatan is a very good player and I like to play with very good players. Every player would be happy to play with him.”
While not a great deal can be read in to Mata’s comments. however. when a key player starts to discuss a particular transfer out in the media, it tends to tell us the advance level of negotiations between the club and the player in question.
Will Zlatan be a success at Man United?
There are very few players in Europe who come with a guarantee of goals and Zlatan Ibrahimovic is indeed one of them. He brings goals and trophies to whichever club he goes to. At present, Manchester United lack goals and a proper goal scorer which is evident in their league position.
Zlatan is available on a free transfer next season and given he is already 34-years old, he has one major transfer left in his career. While other major clubs in Europe will go after his signing, it is United who need Swedish International’s miracles the most next season.
