Arsenal are closing in on Leicester star Riyad Mahrez, according to transfer guru Tancredi Palmeri via Daily Star. Leicester star Riyad Mahrez is reportedly set for Arsenal.
However, the 26-year-old is keen to play Champions League football. And the Foxes could be willing to let him go if one of the big clubs come calling.
Palmeri, who writes for Italian daily Gazetta dello Sport, reckons a move to north London is now edging closer.
He wrote on Twitter: “Arsenal near Mahrez. Last year was just a step.”Mahrez was instrumental in Leicester’s stunning title triumph 12 months ago. But he struggled for form last term and could be offloaded.
Arsenal vicino a Mahrez. Già l’anno scorso era stato a un passo.

Mahrez has played 121 games since joining the club from Le Havre in 2014. He could link up with Alexandre Lacazette at the Emirates who was announced yesterday as an Arsenal player.
The Gunners failed in a bid to sign the Frenchman 12 months ago. But he’s now completed a medical and paperwork have just been finalised.
Lacazette and Mahrez will be a good buy for Arsenal as their attacking third will be fortified. The France international has bagged 129 goals in 275 appearances for Lyon
