Real Madrid to sanction Raphael Varane’s sale to Manchester United after player’s desires to leave

Its that time of the year when we get all sorts of transfer stories filling our web browser. One such story I came across today was Raphael Varane’s alleged move to Manchester United, which has been discussed in the past as well.

According to reports from El Confidencial, Varane is no longer interested in being Madrid’s third choice central defender and has constantly expressed his desires to quit Bernabeu once his contract ends.

This time however, his voice has been heard by the Madrid officials who are waiting for an offer from Manchester United amid Jose Mourinho’s willingness to sign the French International star.

Varane, 23 was one of the most improved players under Mourinho while his time at Real Madrid and the Special One would love an opportunity to work with the young defender once again. Varane was ruled out of the Euro 2016 due to an injury but promised to come back stronger next season.

He is contracted with the La Liga club until 2020 and thus would command a transfer fee of somewhere between £25-30m. Although United signed Eric Bailly earlier this summer, Mourinho would ideally want to bring Varane at Old Trafford and let go the likes of Marcos Rojo, Phil Jones and Daley Blind.

However, United will face competition from Bayern Munich with Carlo Ancelotti amongst Varane’s admirers as well. Former Madrid manager also liked Varane’s ability as a defender and is keen to bring him to Allianz Arena despite Mats Hummels’ signing.
