Much to the disbelief of many football fans around the world, Jose Mourinho has rejected the chance to become the next Manchester United until the time Louis Van Gaal is in charge. The Special One has finally broken his silence on the matter and has conveyed his thoughts through the Spanish newspaper Mundo Deportivo.
The newspaper believes that Mourinho has a lot of respect for his former mentor and will not agree any deal with The Red Devils till the moment he is in charge. However, this does not mean that Mourinho is not interested in the job, he certainly is, but he is willing to take his time and see how his future pans out.
It is believed that, Mourinho is only considering Manchester United as his next destination, which has put the Old Trafford club in a fix as they are also chasing Pep Guardiola. Sports Bild are convinced of Guardiola’s move away from Allianz Arena with Carlo Ancelotti set to take over at the club next summer.
This leaves United with four options – a) Stick with Van Gaal, b) Fire Va Gaal and bring Mourinho now c) Give Giggs the job or d) Hire Guardiola next summer. Ed Woodward and the Glazers have a difficult decision to make in the next 2-3 weeks time as time may be slipping away from their hands as other clubs would soon start to approach Jose Mourinho as well.
