Jose Mourinho’s horror start to the season with Chelsea is doing no harm to his reputation as a Football Manager after Italian news outlet Tutto Mercato have claimed that the Special One has agreed in principle to take over from Louis Van Gaal at Manchester United. There were rumours of Mourinho joining PSG next summer, however, with United job becoming available, Jose was quick to accept the offer.
Mourinho’s arrival at Old Trafford is still uncertain as Louis Van Gaal’s contract runs til 2016/17, so it is not clear whether Mourinho will take over next summer or at the end of 2016/17 season. Despite his appalling start to the season, Mourinho has been given enough time to turn things around at Chelsea and so far there are no talks of him getting sacked by Roman Abramovich.
That is where Tutto Mercato are convinced for Mourinho to have a deal in place to take over at Manchester United as the Special One would spend the next 12 or 24 months in London before making a switch to Manchester. It is no secret how Sir Alex Ferguson wanted Mourinho to take over from him, but his desire to join Chelsea was far greater at that time.
However, with two three seasons in charge at Stamford Bridge, Mourinho is now seeking the possibilities of taking over at Old Trafford and apparently, there is a deal in place where Manchester United hierarchy are no longer worried about Mourinho’s reputation and controversial antics. The Special One often finds himself at the receiving end of FA punishments and bans. Despite that, Manchester United are ready to offer him the hot seat at Old Trafford with the Special One willing to accept the offer.
