Manchester United bound Jose Mourinho appears to be the next Valencia manager after Gary Neville was sacked by the La Liga club late last night.
According to reports from The Sun, soon after sacking Neville, Valencia made a plea to Mourinho and said – “Forget Manchester United, come join us now“.
It is allegedly believed that Mourinho has already held advanced talks with Valencia to take over at Mestalla next summer. Mourinho’s agent Jorge Mendes is one of Valencia owner Peter Lim’s closest football advisers and it looks like a deal has already been agreed.
Should it happen, Man United would regret missing out on Mourinho who was desperate for the Old Trafford job next season. Throughout the season, we kept hearing the talks of a pre-contract agreement between United and Mourinho, but nothing official backed those claims.
Early last week, there were talks of Mourinho getting paid £20million-a-year to ensure Manchester United win trophies in coming seasons. However, we kept on waiting for a concrete report and looks like the former Chelsea boss is now on his way to Valencia.
According to SunSport, Mourinho will be paid £15million-a-year by Valencia and will have 1£00million transfer budget ready for The Special One to change club’s fortune.
Valencia were always keen on getting Mourinho for the summer and had made their intentions clear when owner Peter Lim had privately invited Jose and his agent to an event in Singapore.
While rest of Europe were dwelling on Mourinho’s future, seems like Valencia have pulled off one of the best deals in recent times.
