Jamie Carragher names the next Manchester United manager, Chelsea fans will not be happy reading this

Former Liverpool hero Jamie Carragher believed that Manchester United will do their best to lure Pep Guardiola to Old Trafford next summer if things do not improve under Louis Van Gaal in the second half of current season.

The Red Devils have failed to play exciting brand of football under Van Gaal this season and it has been the case in last 18 months. Players look disinterested and so are the fans. Speaking with Sky Sports, Carragher said: “The fans are bored, they’re letting you know that.

“The worst thing is that it looks like the players look bored [too]. I think this next few months after Christmas are massively important for Louis van Gaal and his Manchester United ‘project’ or whatever you want to call it.

“If it doesn’t improve and there’s that discontent from the supporters, I’m sure Manchester United – along with City – will maybe look at that Pep Guardiola situation because they’re probably thinking that they can’t let one of their biggest rivals get one of the top managers in world football.”

Guardiola has been a key target for Chelsea, Arsenal and Manchester City, however, United has been his first choice as reported by ESPN. Guardiola is keen to quit Bayern Munich next summer and is giving all the right signals to Manchester United in firing Van Gaal and handing him the most coveted job in football management.
