Celtic have been linked with Tottenham young sensation, Reo Griffiths. The Hoops are monitoring the situation between the player and Tottenham and could pounce on any opportunity available to bring the player to Celtic Park.
The story emanated from the fact that Griffiths has not signed a new deal yet at Spurs which he has however stated that he could be doing so soon.
In recent time, lot of Spurs players have been putting pen to paper and it seems Griffiths is likely to follow that trend. The attention on Griffiths ability was visible to many in the under 18 Premier League where he has scored a staggering 23 goals in just 18 appearances this term.
This phenomenal record made him to be linked with a move to Bundesliga outfit, RB Leipzig which could reunite him with Spurs former head of recruitment, Paul Mitchell.
Griffiths has however calm the tension in the fans when he went on Instagram to assure them that he will he staying at the club beyond this summer. The forward appeared in a live video on his Instagram account, where he was asked by a follower to “sign a pro contract”, to which Griffiths replied as quoted by Football.london that: “I’ll be signing something soon, mate. Don’t you worry about that.”
This could be a good time for the management of Spurs who have been working on limited budget with their new stadium under construction. Players like Griffiths and Davison Sanchez putting pen to paper could only mean a better future for them.
It is left for the club now to ensure that manager, Mauricio Pochettino himself sign a new deal and stay at the club to continue the project he has started. Pochettino is likely to stay and will also want all his back room staffs to be given new contract with him as he has already establish a good working relationship with them.
