“Hope he impresses” – Fans react to reported new deal

Celtic fans have been reacting to a recent report by Daily Record that claimed that Moses Odubajo could be considering a move to Parkhead after he hooked up with the Hoops squad for their pre-season tour of Austria.

Odubajo’s contract will expire at the end of this month after a nightmarish end to his time at Hull City. He has not featured in any game for the Tigers since the 2016 Championship play-off final as a result of a knee injury, missing their entire Premier League campaign and their subsequent first year back in the second division.

Daily Record reports that he is set to say his goodbyes to the Tigers, and it appears that he could be heading to Celtic. The Record adds that he has linked up with Brendan Rodgers’ squad in Austria and is set to be presented with the opportunity to prove his fitness in the hope of earning a contract with the Bhoys.

The news has caused Celtic fans to react in diverse ways on social media. Odubajo looked destined for an extremely bright future before his injury, but several of the fans have their concern as to whether he is worth the gamble given the players on their books already.

For other Celtic fans, however, there is a feeling he is a worth considering. The Bhoys have been unsettled at the right-back for a while now, even though both Mikael Lustig and Cristian Gamboa are currently in Russia for World Cup, and some believe Odubajo could be a very good target to consider.

And with the Parkhead resident seemingly yet to actually commit to any deal, several of the supporters cannot see the harm in letting the youngster have a chance to prove his worth on the trip.
