Santi Cazorla is not allowing his ankle injury to get the better part of him as he battles to regain full fitness.

The Spanish midfielder has been sidelined since October after getting injured in the Champions League match against Ludohrets last season. He was scheduled to return to action before the end of the season but suffered a setback in his recovery.

He underwent an operation in Sweden after the ankle injury refused to heal and had to have skin graft-which also went wrong- after the wound from the operation did not heal up as well.

There are claims that the Arsenal man could remain sidelined till April 2018 instead of November 2017 earlier expected to be his return date.

And in a bid to avoid that, the 32-year-old has hit the gym to regain his full fitness and possibly play a part in Arsenal’s campaign next season.

However, with a year left on his current contract at Arsenal and his injury woes, it is not certain that the FA Cup holders will give him a new deal.
