Chelsea have decided to let one of their youngster stay for the coming season. Andreas Christensen have been added to Chelsea and will be wearing the jersey number 27.
The decision to keep the 21 years old is coming after his impressive two years loan spell at Borussia Monchengladbach.
Earlier reports suggest that the versatile 21-year-old will be leaving Stanford Bridge this summer but he will now have his chance to proof himself to Antonio Conte. Chelsea have already sold Nathan Ake and sent Kurt Zuoma on loan to Bournemouth and Stoke respectively.
The Denmark international told the Evening Standard:
‘I have come back to Chelsea a better player than the one that left two years ago.
I played about 80 games in two seasons and I have a lot more experience. I have a bit more toughness, more mental than physical.”
He further narrates his experienced against Bayern Munich. “I remember when I played against Bayern for the first time, I was nervous beforehand because it is easy to look like a clown playing against these guys.
Borussia played one against one at the back and I was directly up against (Robert) Lewandowski first and then (Thomas) Muller later on, but we won the game 3-1. Everything went well and this is the kind of thing that gives me more self-belief at the top level.”
