Eden Hazard has been speaking very candidly in last 24-48 hours courtesy an interview he did with The Guardian.
Among the several topics discussed, one intriguing incident which caught my attention was how Hazard had the final say in Christian Benteke’s move from Liverpool to Crystal Palace earlier in the summer.
Benteke was on the move from Anfield and was unsure of moving to London before his good friend Hazard stepped in and convinced the striker to join Palace.
According to Guardian, Hazard confronted Benteke and said: “When he decided to leave Liverpool and had the opportunity to sign for Crystal Palace, a good club in the Premier League where he’ll play and score goals because he has team-mates of quality.
I suppose, Palace fans have Hazard to thank for Benteke’s arrival after the Belgian striker was frozen out at Anfield. Benteke and Palace take on Manchester City tomorrow night after the Premier League resumes following an international break.
