Arsenal have finally close to signing Monaco 21-year-old winger according to Italian football journalist Emanuele Giulianelli. The ace journalist believes Monaco are just waiting to snap up a replacement before Lemar’s move to the Emirates Stadium is rubber-stamped.

Arsene Wenger has had a series of bids rejected for the 21-year-old winger by the Ligue 1 champions.

Monaco are trying as much as possible to keep hold of their star man after selling the likes of Timoue Bakayoko and Benarndo Silva to Chelsea and Manchester City respectively.

But Giulianelli believes he will be sold and tweeted: “To all the Arsenal supporters asking me about Lemar I can answer: don’t worry, he will join the Gunners.” When asked whether the deal was 100 per cent agreed, he replied: “Done, but Monaco want to have a substitute first.”

Lemar was one of the best players for Monaco last season with 14 goals and 17 assists in 55 appearances for the french champions.

He has been touted as a possible replacement for Alexis Sanchez who is in his final year of his contract. But Arsenal boss, Arsene Wenger is hoping on making Lemar as an addition and not a replacement for the Chilean star.

According to The Sun, Lemar representatives have agreed personal terms and a deal worth £90,000-a-week to bring the french star to the Emirates.
