England will go through their biggest test when they take on the World Champions Germany in a friendly at Berlin later tonight.
Roy Hodgson has named a youthful squad for the upcoming friendlies and he will hope for positive results from his young players.
As they take on the mighty Germans in their own backyard, we take a look at five reasons why England will beat Germany tonight and establish themselves as a worthy contender for the upcoming Euro 2016.
Dele Alli and Harry Kane Partnership
The Spurs duo have been playing some exceptional football where Alli has assisted Kane for 9 of his league goals this season. Alli will most likely play as the number 10 tonight with Kane ahead of him.
Alli and Kane may only have a combined age of 42 but their understanding of a football match is second to none. In a big game like tonight, their ability to sense each other’s movements will be key to England’s chances.
Eric Dier in midfield
Another Spurs man who has been in exceptional form this season is Eric Dier. He may look like a lightly built player but he loves to dominate and break up the play from midfield. His presence against the likes of Emre Can and Sami Khedira will be key to England’s chances of beating Germany.
Young legs willing to run at defenders
Over the years, England had the luxury of Paul Scholes, Steven Gerrard, Frank Lampard and Wayne Rooney to call upon. While they were great players, defenders could sit on their heels and defend against them as they lacked pace.
However, the current England team is filled with runners who are not afraid to take the players on. In Danny Welbeck, Adam Lallana, Dele Alli, Jamie Vardy and Harry Kane, Germany will have too many willing runners to contain which may not be the easiest task in the world.
The growing self belief
Roy Hodgson has given a lot of confidence to these 20-21-22 year old players by calling them for the national team. The likes of Dier, Alli, Kane, Welbeck, Clyne and Rose believe that they actually belong at this level and will give their best in order to justify their selections.
Because they can
It has been an incredible Premier League season so far with all of the selected England players to take on Germany have enjoyed a successful season so far. Every individual forms an integral part of the team and they know that on their night, they are capable of beating any team in the world.
