Liverpool Football club has entered a new phase with Jurgen Klopp talking over at Anfield following the departure of Brendan Rodgers, who was sacked last week. Klopp being one of the best managers in the game in recent times has got the Liverpool fans buzzing about their immediate and long-term future.
Much like any other manager, Klopp would need his current players to perform to best of their levels and seeing his work with Borussia Dortmund, there will be few players, who will really have to step up and shine for Jurgen Klopp and Liverpool. As the German takes over the reign at Anfield, we take a look at the five Players who will shine for Liverpool under Jurgen Klopp.
Emre Can (Holding midfield/central defense)
Emre Can has been seen as one of the most talented players to have come at Liverpool in recent years and with Klopp managing him from now on, we can expect to see the best of the German U-21 star. Can has struggled so far this season as he has not got the best position to play in, however, Klopp understands the German players and he will look to bring out the best from him.
Nathaniel Clyne (Right full-back)
We saw at Dortmund, how Klopp loves to send his full-back flying forward to join the attacks. Liverpool have one of Premier League’s best attacking right-back in Nathaniel Clyne and with Klopp taking over at Liverpool, we will see the very best of Clyne in coming weeks.
Christian Benteke (Center Forward)
Perhaps not in the same caliber as Robert Lewandowski, but Christian Benteke does have an impressive goal ratio for whichever team he has played for so far. Benteke may be missing the games due to injuries for now, but when he will be back, Klopp would like to use him as his key center forward along with the prolific Daniel Sturridge.
Philippe Coutinho (Playmaker)
Jurgen Klopp does not like to complicate things and that is why I expect him to sort out Philippe Coutinho’s best position as the Brazilian was used on the left wing for few games by Rodgers. Coutinho is a clever playmaker, who likes to score and create chances for his attackers, much like Shinji Kagawa when Klopp was at Dortmund.
Roberto Firmino (Best position yet to be known)
Liverpool fans must be wondering, what has happened to their £28million signing as Roberto Firmino has hardly featured in games for them this season. With Klopp in charge, every player will have their opportunity to win the new manager’s trust and find a place in his starting XI. Firmino indeed has the talent and I think, with Klopp coming in will do him a world of good.
