Manchester United’s season virtually depends on whether or not they are able to beat West Ham in FA Cup quarter final replay at Upton Park later tonight. The game at Old Trafford ended 1-1 with Dimitri Payet and Anthony Martial being the goal scorers.
Louis Van Gaal’s side somehow forced a replay after the late equalizer but it will not be easy against an in-form West Ham side and that too at their home ground. West Ham played a remarkable 3-3 draw vs. Arsenal at home last weekend while United were thrashed 3-0 by Tottenham.
Team selection from Van Gaal will be key and ahead of the big kick-off, we take a look at the predicted Manchester United lineup vs West Ham. Marcos Rojo is a huge doubt for this game after a shambolic performance against Spurs. Wayne Rooney has returned to full fitness and could start the game as well.
Predicted Manchester United lineup vs West Ham
Defense: Louis Van Gaal would be tempted to start Antonio Valencia and use his dependability from the full-back areas. Marcos Rojo and Matteo Darmian have disappointed in recent weeks and it would be ideal to snub them for this all important game.
Timothy Fosu-Mensah has looked promising when he has been out on the pitch and has virtually sealed his spot in Manchester United’s starting XI vs West Ham later tonight.
Midfield: Michael Carrick’s poor game against Spurs has opened the door for Ander Herrera’s inclusion in our Predicted Manchester United lineup vs West Ham. Morgan Schneiderlin keeps his place in the starting XI.
Attack: Without any surprises, this is one area Van Gaal would have to tinker the most. Juan Mata and Jesse Lingard must make way for Memphis Depay and Wayne Rooney, however, Marcus Rashford needs to start regardless of his starting position in the game tonight.
