Manchester United will go in to the weekend’s FA Cup tie vs. West Ham with an aim to save their season after their horrific defeat against Liverpool in the Europa League.
Ahead of the big kick-off this weekend, we take a look at Predicted Manchester United lineup vs. West Ham.
Manager Louis Van Gaal has come under intense criticism for his team selection against Liverpool, where we saw Marouane Fellaini starting ahead of Ander Herrera, and there was no room for either Adnan Januzaj or Andreas Pereira on the bench.
Predicted Manchester United lineup vs. West Ham
Defense:
David De Gea must be frustrated with trying to keep Man United in games week-in-week-out, but the Spaniard will have to do so, at least for rest of this season.
Matteo Darmian could return to the lineup while Chris Smalling, Marcos Rojo and Daley Blind would keep their place after the Liverpool defeat.
Midfield:
Perhaps the most telling change from the Liverpool game will be in United’s midfield, where Bastian Schweinsteiger will return with Morgan Schneiderlin partnering his German teammate.
Attack:
Jesse Lingard’s suspension in the Liverpool game showed as United’s right wing was less than effective. Lingard returning for the FA Cup would allow Ander Herrera to start in the number 10 role, while Memphis Depay and Anthony Martial will be entrusted with carrying United’s attack against West Ham.
