Manager Arsene Wenger spoke with the media earlier today and revealed that his two defensive mainstays Per Mertesacker and Gabriel Paulista are expected to shake off their injury blows and start the weekend’s game vs. Watford.

However, Aaron Ramsey is out for over a month and will miss two crucial games coming up vs. Watford and Barcelona.

Predicted Arsenal lineup vs Watford

Defense:

David Ospina will continue to stand in for the injured Petr Cech. The Champions League tie vs. Barcelona will be a major factor in Arsene Wenger’s team selection against Watford. Nacho Monreal and Hector Bellerin could be rested with Kieran Gibbs and Callum Chambers getting a start vs. The Hornets.

Midfield:

With very few options left with Arsene Wenger, Francis Coquelin and Mohamed Elneny will start in central midfield fr Arsenal and giving their team the much-needed cover from a dangerous Watford side, who can hurt Arsenal on the counter attack.

Attack:

Like Arsenal’s defense, their attack will be slightly altered keeping the Barcelona game in mind. Alexis Sanchez, Mesut Ozil and Danny Welbeck will be given rest in favor of Alex Iwobi, Joel Campbell and Theo Walcott.

Olivier Giroud will be entrusted with scoring the goals for Arsenal, like he has done in FA Cup this season. His two goals vs. Hull were enough for the Gunners to ease home with a 4-0 win and progress to the quarter finals of the competition.
