Celtic have been eyeing up a move for Aberdeen defender Scott McKenna.
According to The Scottish Sun, Celtic have joined Swansea City in pursuit of the 21-year-old who the Dons have placed a tag of £10 million on [The Daily Record].
The Hoops have been having a little crisis at the centre-back in recent weeks after Jozo Simunovic missed the third-round Champions League qualifier with Rosenborg through suspension, while Dedryck Boyata has been enjoying an extended holiday after helping Belgium to a World Cup semi-final in Russia earlier this summer.
However, it remains to be seen if Brendan Rodgers will want to sign a new central defender from here on in.
Here is how some Celtic fans reacted to the rumour about McKenna.
Celtic could buy your whole squad and Stadium you clown

Celtic being linked with Scott Mckenna. He's an excellent no-nonsense defender, but can't see Rodgers going after a player so limited with ball at his feet. Aberdeen's price tag also likely puts Celtic out of the bidding regardless.

If we offered cash plus Christie we'd get him

It seems unlikely that the Hoops would spend a whopping £10 million on McKenna – and certainly not before they are assured of the £30 million windfalls heading their way if they qualify for the Champions League proper.
Rodgers has already broken the club’s transfer record this summer by signing Odsonne Edouard for £8 million and doing so might just be a dream not quite realistic at the moment.
