Manchester United have been given some respite for their next game against Chelsea after the deadly duo Eden Hazard and Diego Costa have been ruled out of that clash.
While Costa’s absence is certain as he picked up the fifth booking of this campaign, Hazard could yet feature as his is more of an injury concern. According to confirmed reports, the Belgian star left Stamford Bridge while limping and is a major doubt for the Monday’s game against Man United.
Perhaps this could be the good luck Van Gaal needs to turn things around for Manchester United or perhaps, losing to an under-powered Chelsea side could bring an end to his spell at Old Trafford.
Permutations are plenty, while the real answer will only be revealed on Monday night when the two fallen heroes of English football collide to restore some balance to their appalling season.
There is a general consensus that, if Van Gaal manages to stay until the Chelsea game, he will have to deliver a result and a performance or else, it will be too much for the club to back him despite the continuous disasters on the pitch.
