Liverpool welcome Tottenham in a highly anticipated Premier League clash this weekend which will have a huge bearing on this season’s title race. Ahead of the big kick-off, we take a look at the predicted Liverpool lineup vs Tottenham.

Going in to the game, Liverpool have been given an injury scare which sees the likes of Roberto Firmino, Alberto Moreno and Christian Benteke all ruled out. With Firmino ruled out, James Milner will have to leave his makeshift left-back role and join with the attack.

Predicted Liverpool lineup vs Tottenham

Predicted Liverpool lineup vs TottenhamDefense:

Simon Mignolet, Dejan Lovren and Mamadou Sakho may not be the most dependable players this season but they will command three places in Liverpool’s back-5 vs. Spurs. Jon Flanagan has received rave reviews in recent weeks and he should get a start from right back while Nathaniel Clyne will switch over to left-back to cover for the injuries at Anfield.

Midfield:

Emre Can had a hot and cold International break which he would like to correct against Spurs this weekend. Partnering Can in our predicted Liverpool lineup vs Tottenham is the captain Jordan Henderson. The English midfielder played well vs. Germany last week and would be expected to deliver a steady performance against Tottenham.

Attack:

When fit, Philippe Coutinho, Adam Lallana and Daniel Sturridge are the first three names on Jurgen Klopp’s team sheet. However, with Roberto Firmino’s injury Klopp will have to think on his left sided attacker.

The safest option would be to put James Milner in there, as he rarely disappoints in a big game and he will do a good job defensively in keeping out Kyle Walker’s bombing forward runs.
