Tottenham vs Arsenal Tactical Setup

Mauricio Pochettino and Arsene Wenger prefer to use 4-2-3-1 formation for their teams. Arsenal’s formation is almost too rigid at times with players not allowed to mix in their roles. On the other hand, Spurs play with more flexibility, which gives players enough room to express themselves and take attacking positions when needed.

Arsenal’s possession play has come under severe criticisms off-late, where Gunners have kept the ball for most part of the games but haven’t been able to do anything constructive with it. Swansea defeat has once again caused serious decent among Arsenal fans and if they lose to their fierce rivals this weekend, one can only imagine fans’ relationship with Arsene Wenger getting even worse.

Tottenham vs Arsenal Key Battles

Christian Eriksen vs Mesut Ozil – Harry Kane and Dele Alli may have swooped all the plaudits this season for Tottenham’s bright play, but Eriksen has been their main man throughout the campaign. His inch-perfect passes and an eye for goal has allowed Spurs to come back in games and get desired results.

Rivaling Eriksen, Arsenal’s answer is Mesut Ozil. The German has made 18 assists so far this season, and he would want to make it 19 in this game and keep his team’s title chances alive.

Harry Kane vs Olivier Giroud – If the above mentioned players can create then Kane and Giroud are the relied goal scorers for their sides. The duo have gone on a barren run off-late and would need to find their scoring touch for this all-important games. They have what it takes to score the winning goal and lead their side to Premier League glory this season.
