Tottenham 2 Arsenal 2 – Things Learned and Key Talking Points

White Hart Lane was buzzing tonight and you could see the anticipation among crowd as they hoped for a historic night with Tottenham overcoming their arch rivals Arsenal. For a brief moment, it looked like happening as well when Harry Kane had scored the wonder goal to put Spurs ahead 2-1.

From that moment, it looked as if there was no way out for the Gunners, however, a sloppy Alexis Sanchez strike saw Arsenal literally claw their way back in the game and walk away with a vital point from White Hart Lane.

Tottenham 2 Arsenal 2 – Key Talking Points

As plot thickens, picture looks even clearer for Leicester as they play Watford later in the night and if they win tonight, their lead at the top could be stretched to 6 points. On the wake of the 2-2 draw, we take a look at things learned and key talking points from White Hart Lane.

Tottenham 2 Arsenal 2 - Things Learned, Talking Points

Arsenal’s criticisms are fair, result does not change a thing

Arsenal were saved by a late Alexis Sanchez goal, but their performance on the night was disappointing. They were outplayed by Spurs in the first half, were lucky to be ahead through Ramsey’s goal. Then a moment of madness saw Coquelin get sent off, and it was all Spurs in the second half.

Arsenal pulled a goal back from Alexis, but at no point they looked like a team who are fighting for league title or their players have enough desire to carry their team over the line.

Spurs bottle it again, pressure getting to them

Seems like title pressure is getting to Tottenham and their players. It was a defeat against West Ham in midweek and now letting go a 2-1 lead against a 10-men Arsenal side are probably signs of nerves being shown by Mauricio Pochettino’s men at a very wrong time of the season.

Even when Leicester do not play, they win

It was strange game, Arsenal led and lost, Spurs led and dropped points while Leicester ended up being the real winners. Foxes can go 6-points clear of Spurs and 9 points ahead of Arsenal later tonight when they take on Watford.
