Apart from the big-teams clashes, Everton vs West Ham is my personal favorite game to look out for every season. They always play competitive matches and the level of commitment from players is second to none.
This season, it has not been any different. We have seen some exceptional performances from both the teams, thus we can expect another classic Everton vs West Ham game this weekend. Ahead of the kick-off, we take a look at key questions which need answering.
Payet vs Barkley – who will come out on top?
Dimitri Payet has been an exceptional addition to the Premier League, while Ross Barkley has played to his potential for the first time this season. The duo will be expected to put up a match-winning performances for their side, and whoever wins this battle could end up winning the game.
West Ham’s poor away record
While West Ham have been indestructible, their away form is a bit of worry for Slaven Bilic. Hammers do not look the same side when they are traveling. Everton also rely on their home form to sustain a good season, thus West Ham will have to be at their best in order to get a win or something positive from the game.
Can Lukaku catch up with Vardy?
Romelu Lukaku was on the scoresheet in the midweek game against Aston Villa, which took his tally to 17 goals for the season. Jamie Vardy is on 19, and is surprisingly on a dry run. It gives the Everton man a chance to catch up with Vardy in race of Premier League’s golden shoe honors.
