Edinson Cavani has been a man in demand with many European heavyweights battling for his signature next summer. The PSG striker has been left frustrated with his time at Parc de Princes and is seeking a way out of the club.
According to Daily Star, PSG are now willing to let the 29-year old leave, but for nothing less than £40million. According Star, Cavani has expressed his desires to quit PSG next summer regardless of the fact whether Zlatan Ibrahimovic stays or leaves.
PSG to sell Cavani for 40million Pounds
Arsenal have been tracking down the striker for several seasons now, with Gunners formally asking of his availability last summer. PSG turned down Arsenal’s inquiry and convinced the striker to stay put for another season.
However, nothing has changed for Cavani since then, as he is often the player to be left out in big games and is always playing the second fiddle to Zlatan’s God like presence at PSG.
Despite Ibra’s contract running out in the summer, Cavani is not willing to haggle on a new PSG deal and is keen to quit the club. Understanding striker’s desires, PSG have put a £40million asking fee for Cavani, and are ready to welcome offers for the striker.
Chelsea and Manchester United have also been linked with Cavani’s transfer but Arsenal are seen as Cavani’s preferred destination once he quits Ligue 1 football next season.
Where will Cavani fit in?
At present, Arsenal have Olivier Giroud as the only out-and-out striker available. Theo Walcott and Danny Welbeck have been partly used in that role, but are not the experts in that position.
With Cavani coming in, Arsenal will have an assured goal-scoring striker leading the line for them and will further propel their chances of gunning down trophies in coming seasons.
