Just 12 months after being named as Premier League player of the year, Eden Hazard is ready to get axed by Chelsea as he edges closer to joining Real Madrid in the summer.
According to reports in Spain, Hazard will sign for Real Madrid in coming months with Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich pushing for the deal to happen.
However, the shocking part is that Chelsea are willing to sell the Belgium International star for as little as 20million.
As per El Chiringuito de Jugones, Abramovich is keen on cutting his losses on Hazard and wants to sell him while he can.
Real Madrid have left no secrets in their pursuit of signing the 25-year old star with manager Zinedine Zidane openly expressing his admiration for the player.
Hazard wants to play under Zidane
To reciprocate the support, Hazard revealed how he would love a chance to play under Zidane in near future. Chelsea attacker called Zidane his idol and a very influential figure in his football career.
All the talks seem to heading in the right direction. Add to that journalist Eduardo Inda believes that Chelsea and Real Madrid have entered advance negotiation status and expect a deal to be made for the player immediately.
Are Chelsea right in selling Hazard?
We would never know the answer to that question. On his day, he can still win games for any team he plays. Perhaps, he has lost his desire to do well for Chelsea. He no longer values the club in the same he used to.
And for that very reason, the player must be shipped off the squad. Chelsea are fortunate that Real Madrid have come calling, they should not miss this chance and sell the struggling star at the earliest.
