Early contenders for Premier League Golden Boot Award

Harry Kane put the entire Premier League on fire last season by scoring 25 goals and edging Jamie Vardy for the Golden Boot honour. Much like any other season, we have seen plenty of new arrivals this summer, which will make the race to finish top goal scorer in Premier League even more difficult this season.

As for betting on Premier League, Sergio Aguero, Harry Kane and Jamie Vardy will be the top contenders on bookmakers offers, but they can get Zlataned if certain Mr. Zlatan Ibrahimovic decides to be on his top form.

Ibra is coming on the back of a successful season with PSG where he scored 38 goals in competition and led them to their 4th successive league title.

Since his move to Old Trafford he has already scored 3 goals including on his Premier League debut vs Bournemouth. Manchester United have also done well in bringing players like Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Paul Pogba who can get the best out of Zlatan on the pitch.

What helps Zlatan’s case to win this season’s Golden Boot award is Jose Mourinho’s history of getting the best out of his strikers. Didier Drogba, Karim Benzema and Diego Costa have all scored 20+ goals under Jose and who is to say that Zlatan cannot do it?

Elsewhere, we must not discount the likes of Romelu Lukaku, Diego Costa, Olivier Giroud and perhaps Daniel Sturridge as they will have a huge say in the race to this season’s golden ball award in Premier League.

Lukaku scored 25 goals last season while Costa was on fire the season before that when Chelsea were crowned as the Champions. With Antonio Conte deciding to stick with Costa and seeing the back of Eden Hazard to his best form, one can only imagine the number of goals Costa will score this season.

Meanwhile we must not forget the likes of Riyad Mahrez, Alexis Sanchez, Eden Hazard and Anthony Martial who may operate from midfield but they know their route to goal as well. Mahrez scored 17 goals last season and has already go off the mark this season with his penalty striker vs Hull City.

One thing is certain, we will see the most intense fight for the golden ball trophy in Premier League history with so many top class strikers plying their trade in English football.
