Not often we see high-profile players come out in public and criticize their current club for blocking their transfer. However, in an absolute shocking statement Julian Draxler spoke with Bild last night and dropped a huge bomb on Wolfsburg.

Draxler claimed that Bundesliga side are now backtracking on their initial words of not allowing him to leave if a better offers comes along. Draxler is reportedly keen to quit Wolfsburg in order to join a bigger team this summer.

Draxler is not happy with his current club after they publicly claimed that he is staying with them no matter the amount of money offered for his signature this summer.

In an explosive interview with Bild, Draxler said: “Before you go public like that, you really should speak with me first.

“The situation with me is that I made it clear to (head coach) Dieter Hecking after we were knocked out of Euro 2016 in the semi-final that I would like to leave Wolfsburg.

“The coach has known about this for three weeks. It’s very surprising that they have been talking about me to the media for weeks.

“I would have expected things to be different, for example for one of them to come to me and ask me how things are with me.”

“When I joined, I was assured – verbally – that I could leave the club whenever the opportunity arose.

“Both Hecking and (sporting director) Klaus Allofs said this. It was clear that Wolfsburg had good prospects, but also that they were a springboard for me.”

Arsenal have been linked with a move for Draxler and after Juventus rejected the chance to sign the German International it is believed that the 22-year-old attacker is on his way to Emirates.

Chief Sky Sports journalist Kaveh Solhekol also confirmed the news on his twitter account where he claimed to have been told that Draxler fancies a move to Arsenal and the interview he gave to Bild was a way to force the move.

Chances of Draxler joining Arsenal – 3/5

Given the fact that Juventus have backed out of the race to sign him, Arsenal could be the only ones chasing Draxler this summer.

Like Alvaro Morata, Riyad Mahrez and Alexandre Lacazette price will be a factor to consider for Arsene Wenger but the way Draxler has come out in public expressing his desires to leave it would be an ideal signing if Arsenal can somehow pull it off.
