‘Don’t leave’ Celtic Fans begs player not to sign Premier League deal

According to reports from the Scottish Sun, Manchester United are monitoring goalkeeper Craig Gordon’s performance in hopes of signing him as a back-up to David De Gea at Old Trafford.

United boss Jose Mourinho is understood to have realized he might not succeed in his effort to keep Argentina international Sergio Romero at the club this summer and, as such, has started searching for a possible replacement. In the aforementioned De Gea, he has one of the best stoppers in the game, so only needs an experienced and reliable back-up.

Gordon is a right fit and the Scotsman is thought to be a potential target, along with Manchester City outcast Joe Hart. Clearly, both will be below the Spaniard in the pecking order at the club, though could represent solid understudies.

As you can imagine – with Celtic fans having their own set of goalkeeping issues – fans at Parkhead are hoping Gordon stays, even if Brendan Rodgers manages to bring in a signing of his own.

Gordon would probably be a good signing for United, though Celtic should prevent him from leaving. They proved they can battle Premier League giants on that front last summer when they waved off interest from Chelsea in the Scottish veteran and Brendan Rodgers is barely blessed between the sticks at the moment.
