In what will sound as shock and surprise news to most Chelsea fans, Serbian international midfielder Nemanja Matic has been linked with a way move to Manchester United.
According to latest report from the Sun, Matic will undergo a medical at Manchester United in the next 48 hours.
It is believed that Chelsea move to sign Monaco box-to-box midfielder Tiemoue Bakayoko is the reason why Matic wants to join United.
The 22-year old French star is one of Antonio Conte prime target this summer as he looks to strengthen his squad ahead of next season.
Bakayoko was on fine form for Monaco last season, helping them win the league title after 17-year of waiting while also reaching the semi-final of the Champions League.
It is reported that United has offered £40 million for Matic services while also offering the star a £155,000-a-week deal.
Matic arrived Chelsea for a second spell in 2014 under Jose Mourinho reign and has since been a key player in the Blues squad helping them win two league titles in three years.
Mourinho sees the Serbian as a replacement for aging Michael Carrick and a formidable partner to Paul Pogba. Chelsea are expected to finalize Bakayoko deal before the weeks runs out. The deal is worth about £35 million.
