Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has been in the hunt for a left-back and finally got that when he signed Andrew Robertson from Liverpool.
James Milner played in that position last season due to Albert Moreno inconsistencies but with Robertson now in the Reds squad, Milner may return to his midfield position.
The Scotland international joined the Red Devils in a deal worth £10million and Klopp has spoken highly of the potentials and qualities
which drew his attention to the defender.
“For Andrew this is another big step on what has been a quite incredible personal journey in a very short space of time,” Klopp said.
“I love his story; where we have come from professionally to reach this point.” “When you speak to him it is clear why he makes his progress. He has a burning love for playing football – he loves it.”
“His attitude is outstanding – absolutely outstanding. His talent and skills – also very, very good. He has experience of this competition, the Premier League, and he has the mentality and quality to get even better.”
The full-back was impressive for Hull City in the Premier League last season despite their relegation to the Championship. He is a versatile player who can also play on the left-side of the midfield.
The 23-year-old joined Hull City from Dundee United in the summer of 2014 but had before then played for Queen Park Ranger’s senior team.
