Liverpool have not been really active in the transfer market but one thing they are definitely ensuring is that they are not letting their first team players leave. One of the important players for them last season was Emre Can.
According to reports, the German international is set to sign a new long term deal at Anfield.
The 23-year-old German international was an integral part of the squad which won the 2017 FIFA Confederations Cup in Russia.
Last season he made 32 appearances for Liverpool in the Premier League, scoring five goals and chipping in with two assists. Can is still on holiday but he’s expected to sign a new five year deal when he arrives back at Melwood.
Another round of rumor going round Anfield is that Liverpool is about to break the club transfer record for the second time this summer to bring RB Leipzig midfielder Naby Keita to the club.
Mohammed Sallah is the only first team player Liverpool have signed so far and are hoping to add to him before the end of the transfer market. Having Can sign a new deal and bringing in Keita to the team will be great news for Kloop.
Liverpool will be competing in the UEFA Champions League next season and will need depth in squad to achieve that.
