Done deal: Chelsea target officially complete EPL move, Madrid fans will be sad

One of Chelsea target for this summer, Danilo have joined rival club Manchester City ahead of Chelsea. Both Real Madrid and Manchester City confirmed the deal that the full back has moved to England on a five years deal, according to report from Football-espana.

No official fee was announced but it is rumored to be around £26.5m. Danilo joined Real from Porto after an outstanding spell in Portugal.

“I am very, very happy to be joining Manchester City. There has been strong interest from other clubs, but it has always been my ambition to play for Pep Guardiola.

As soon as I heard of his interest, I knew immediately I wanted to be a City player,” the 26-year-old told City’s official website. “I can’t wait to get started and I’m looking forward to getting to know my new teammates over the coming weeks.”

Danilo was only able to feature for Real 55 times as he was unable to displace Dani Cavajal from the first team.

Real Madrid meanwhile, wished Danilo best in his new club on their official website. “The club wants to show their appreciation for his professionalism, commitment and dedication during his time with Madrid and wishes him all the best in his new stage.”

Chelsea now have to look elsewhere for a right wing back.
