Chelsea have announced that young right-back Ola Aina has joined Championship side Hull on a season-long loan deal. The Blues confirmed the news on their official Twitter account as well as BBC News. This will be the defender first move since he joined the club.

His signing is Hull manager Leonid Slutsky’s first player to join the Tigers, after joining the club following the departure of former boss Marco Silva.

His aim is to immediately lead the Yorkshire based side to an immediate return to the Premier League, having suffered relegation alongside north east clubs Middlesbrough and Sunderland.

As Slutsky managed to bring Aina in to help his efforts, Chelsea boss Antonio Conte will be hoping that the loan move will help the development of a player the Chelsea website call “highly rated”.

A London man born and bred, Aina who has Nigeria origin is renowned for his jet-heeled forward raids, has come through the youth squads at Chelsea and has already earned a taste of first team football for the Blues.

He has six senior appearances to his name, making his debut in a 3-2 win over League One side Bristol Rovers in the League Cup back at the start of the 2016/17 campaign. Aina have played in all under aged competition for England till the under 21.
