Good news for Chelsea fans as manager Antonio Conte has finally signed a new contract putting an end to speculations that he will be leaving the club this summer. Conte who left his Italian national team job to take over at Chelsea last summer signed a three years contract. After helping Chelsea to a league title, he has been rewarded with a new contract.

Speaking after signing the deal Conte said:

“I am very happy to have signed a new contract with Chelsea. We worked extremely hard in our first year to achieve something amazing, which I am very proud of. Now we must work even harder to stay at the top.

The Chelsea fans have given me so much support since I arrived here one year ago and it is important we continue to succeed together.”

Conte has also made some changes to his back room staff as Paolo Vanoli joined in the capacity of an assistant to the first team head coach and Davide Mazzotta will work as assistant/player analysis.

Although he had two years left in his previous contract, this deal has secured his future for Chelsea.

We understand that Conte’s new two years contract is an improved version of his previous contract that makes him earn more and have more power to key decision making on how the club should be run.

Chelsea club director Marina Granovskaia said:

“Antonio achieved incredible success last season, adapting to English football very quickly and leading us to the Premier League title.

This new contract reflects our belief that he can continue to deliver results both domestically and as we return to European competition in the Champions League.” .
