Back in 2013-14 season, Brendan Rodgers and the infamous Liverpool transfer committee decided to pass on the opportunity to sign Dele Alli due to a small matter of £2-3million. Since then, Spurs have not only signed Alli, but have transformed the 19-year old as England’s most raved midfield star.
Alli will travel to Anfield later today and unlike previous weeks he will be extra motivated to do well. Alli has seen a meteoric rise to Premier League and International football and perhaps represents the gap between Liverpool and Tottenham at the moment.
The North London side have edged past their famous rivals, who have been living on their past glories. Jurgen Klopp does bring a ray of hope at Anfield, but he needs 12-18 months to have a realistic chance of fighting for top honors.

As for Spurs, they still remain the more favored side to win this season’s title which is largely down to Alli-Kane partnership. While Harry Kane has scored the goals, Alli has been instrumental in providing Spurs midfield the X-factor they have lacked since Luka Modric’s departure.
Leading up to the game, Alli has been hailed as the next Paul Gascgoine and has even been compared to Bryan Robson. All of it must be very hard for Liverpool fans to fathom as Alli was determined to join The Reds given Steven Gerrard being his favorite player and Liverpool his favorite club.
However, Alli will be wearing Tottenham’s white waiting to play the best game of his career to once again prove how big-a-mistake Liverpool made by not signing the charismatic Dele Alli when they had the chance.
