Jack Aitchison is moving to Dumbarton on loan.
The teenager made a spectacular scoring debut against Motherwell in 2016 but found it hard to earn a permanent spot in the first team since then.
With Odsonne Edouard, Leigh Griffiths and Moussa Dembele ahead of him in the pecking order, Celtic are well covered in the frontline.
Scoring his debut goal three months after his 16th birthday put the striker in the spotlight with his development having the usual highs and lows that most teenagers experience.
Dumbarton have struggled to get acclimated to life in League One after suffering relegation through the Championship play-off but are expected to be competing for promotion.
Aitchison played for Celtic in the 3-0 defeat from Hamilton Accies and will still be available to play in the Reserve League.
With Dumbarton being part-time he will train with Stevie Aitken’s side twice a week as well as his stints at Lennoxtown.
Robbie Deas (Cowdenbeath) and Ciaran Diver (Stranraer) went out on loan from Celtic last week with others expected to follow.
