Arsenal’s lack of Champions league qualification has not made them slack in this transfer market. To improve from their disappointing 5th position finish in the league last season, their worst finish in 21 years, Arsenal are planning on bringing in former PFA player of the year Riyad Mahrez.
The Algerian was pivotal to Leicester 2015 title wining squad returning 18 goals across all competition. He was only able to reproduce 10 goals last season as Leicester struggle to finish 10th on the Premier league table. Mahrez has since asked to leave the King power stadium, with Barcelona his most preferred destination and Chelsea also showing a interest in landing him.
Arsenal however are poised to sign the 26-year-old attacker. Reports have it that an announcement will be made ‘soon’ but does not provide any details of transfer fee of contract for the player.
Speaking last month, Wenger response to if he’s interested in signing the Fox attacker was showed little clue. “Have we made bid for him? No,” he said as quoted by Express. “Not yet. Not yet means it could still happen, it could not happen.”
Mahrez arrival at Arsenal will boast their chance of a first league title in 14 years and a strengthened squad to navigate through the Europa league.
I have watched him play in so many occasions and I can also tell the combination of him and Alexis Sanchez in both the left and right winger will be a perfect foil which be result to a very brilliant result for us.
