Liverpool are interested in signing RB Leipzig midfielder Naby Keita and it seems there is a green light at the end of the tunnel in their pursuit of the player.
The 22-year-old moved to the German club last summer and was an instant hit in the Bundesliga, helping Leipzig to a second place finish.
His performances have caught the attention of Jurgen Klopp who is keen on bringing the playmaker to Anfield.
And after Leipzig initial stand not to release the Guinea international, it appears they are ready to do business with Liverpool. And there are reports that the Red Devils are ready to fork out £70 million to sign him.
And to buttress the reports, Liverpool legend Michael Owen has revealed his former club are edging closer to completing a deal for Keita.
Speaking with the Mirror, Owen said:
“They are on the cusp of signing Keita, and that could be an amazing signing if that came off”.
Liverpool have already brought in Mohamed Salah and Dominic Solanke but Klopp still wants to make more signings as they will compete in the Champions League next season.
The Merseysiders are reportedly interested in Schalke 04 midfielder Leon Goretzka.
