Reports in France have suggested Celtic’s deal for Odsonne Edouard is getting closer to completion quicker than expected because time is crucial for PSG.

The French club is about to be sanctioned by UEFA for falling foul of their financial fair play rules – something PSG knew was inevitable.

UEFA are set to make the findings of their investigation into the club’s dealing public knowledge on June 8th at which point the club could be slapped with a transfer embargo.

This means that the Parisian club would be unable to make any transfer dealings for a set time.

The club is trying to raise funds to balance the books to avoid the harsher punishments UEFA could set them by raising €70-90 million in player sales as per reports by French newspaper L’equipe.

The news outlet reports that PSG has already identified players they want to offload and Osdonne is on the list.

The Celtic loan star has made no bones of his desire to remain at Celtic Park beyond his loan spell which ended last month and told fans this was just the beginning of his Celtic journey.

Brendan Rodgers told fans last month that Peter Lawell has already negotiated a deal for the player with a €7million fee the asking price.

If these reports are anything to go by, it’s now only a matter of time before a permanent deal is concluded.
