London Club Crystal Palace are reportedly set to land England Under-21 international midfielder Ruben Loftus-Cheek on a season-long loan deal if reports from the Telegraph are to be believed.
The Premier League sides, who are hoping to better their14th their place finish this coming season, are aiming to add young and fresh legs to their squad. Loftus-Cheek has been identified as one of the players needed to achieve their target. Crystal Palace escaped relegation last season by just seven points clear of the bottom three.
The 21-year-old, who has featured 17 times for England’s Under-21 side, provided two assists in just 11 appearances in all competitions for The Blues last season.
Loftus-Cheek, who has been with the Blues ever since he clocked 8 years but have had limited first team action. He has only managed 32 first-team appearances for the Premier League champions overall, scoring twice.
But after failing to start a league game last term, Chelsea coach Antonio Conte made the central midfielder available on loan, which attracted the likes of Palace, Southampton and newly promoted duo Newcastle United and Brighton and Hove Albion.
There are speculations that Palace new coach Frank de Boer has made Cheek a top target for the coming season.
