Leicester City star Riyad Mahrez has been a centre of speculation over a move out of the king power stadium with Arsenal the most likely destination. This move to the Emirates have been on the radar since the beginning of the transfer windowed is not going away until a deal is agreed.
Now, Italian club, AS Roma is now trying to secure his signature after submitting a bid of £30m which have been rejected by Leicester City, the fox are holding out for £50m.
The Algerian wants to leave Leicester but his preferred club, Barcelona is not interested in his service and he has now settled for Arsenal.
Confirming Roma’s bid for Mahrez, Leicester Coach Shakespeare said:
“There has been a bid from Roma. I was told afterwards so I want to put the record straight. It was politely declined on the basis it was a low offer.”
Hopefully Arsenal will get the former PFA before the end of the transfer window to repeat his form of 2015/16 which made him score 18 goals. Mahrez is a talented player who will complement the current Arsenal team and help challenge for trophies.
I have watch the Algeria international play in so many occasions and I personally think is style of football will easily fit in manager Arsene Wenger information and he will be a perfect foil to the likes of Mesut Ozil, Alexis Sanchez and Alexandre Lacazette.
