Chelsea have made a sensational £32million bid to sign their former defender David Luiz from PSG, according to reports from Daily Mirror.

The report claims that Luiz has fallen out of favor under the new manager Unai Emery, who does not see the Brazilian as his first choice central defender alongside Thiago Silva.

The situation got even worse for Luiz when he was substituted at half time by the manager after he conceded a first half penalty against AS Monaco. PSG eventually went on to lose the game.

Luiz was sold by Jose Mourinho two years ago in a record £50m deal but the 29-year-old could make a swift return to Stamford Bridge now that Mourinho is no longer in charge of the club.

Antonio Conte has seen several of his attempts fail to sign a top defender this summer with Leonardo Bonucci, Kalidou Koulibaly and Alessio Romagnoli all rejecting the chance to join Chelsea.

At the time of writing, Sky Sources have also confirmed Chelsea’s £32m bid in an attempt to re-sign David Luiz from PSG. As things stand, the deal does look like going through on the Deadline Day with Chelsea finally managing to complete a marquee defensive signing.
