Celtic have sealed up a long-term deal with their highly rated keeper Ross Doohan.
According to report on their official website, Doohan has penned a new four-year deal which him see him remain with the Hoops until the summer of 2022.
Doohan is highly regarded by the club staff and the fans will be glad of his long-term presence in the club.
The report further stated that the youngster will now be sent out on loan to the Championship side Ayr United.
The 20-year-old needs to be in action on a regular basis in order to continue his development as a footballer and a loan spell seems a good idea at this stage of his career.
He is not ready to start for Celtic just yet and he is too good to continue playing at the youth level.
Doohan signed for the Parkhead resident in the summer of 2016 and he has previously spent a loan spell at Morton. The young shot-stopper will be hoping to grasp this opportunity with both hands and return better equipped to compete for a place in the Celtic’s first team next season.
An impressive campaign with Ayr United could help him secure a spot in Rodgers’ first-team.
Here is how the fans reacted to the news on Twitter.
