After winning in a convincing 4-0 season opener match against West Ham at Old Trafford, Manchester United Boss Jose Mourinho is looking to add the Swedish International Zlatan Ibrahimovic back to the squad.
Ibrahimovic who starred for the Red Devils last season emerging as their top goal scorer last campaign with 28 goals in all competitions.
Reports claim, Ibrahimovic is set to return to Manchester before the weekend. The former Paris Saint-German Forward picked up a knee injury while playing for the Reds in their Europa League against Anderlecht in April and that ended this season at Old Trafford.
Ibrahimovic join United on a free transfer from Paris Saint-Germain last summer, where he put pen to paper and signed a year’s contract. He was released when his contract expired at end of last season but Mourinho confirmed that the Striker will sign another contract.
Zlatan was ruled out of action till January 2018 by his doctors, but the Swedish International is working his way to fitness and he is likely to be back ahead of schedule.
A Manchester United source told The Sun that Ibra will arrive at the training ground shortly.
“Zlatan will be coming back to resume his rehab from his knee operation very shortly.
“He’s been told to calm it down a bit, but that’s just not what he’s like, he’s so determined.”
“Everyone is delighted with his progress, but want him to strike the right balance between rehab and recovery.”
Ibrahimovic arrival back at Old Trafford will be a great boost for the Red Devils providing an option for Lukaku in attack.
