Another day and another team linked with Stuart Armstrong. It cannot be avoided when the player’s future remains a mystery.
Today Fulham have been linked with the Scottish midfielder in what would be somewhat of an intriguing move.
Former Celtic midfielder Stefan Johansen currently plies his trade with the Cottagers; throw Armstrong in the mix and you have a former Celtic duo controlling a Premier League midfield next season.
Stefan moved to Fulham two seasons ago when Brendan Rodgers first took the Celtic job, after a promising start to his time at Celtic the player looked lacking in spirit towards the end of his spell and wanted to depart immediately Ronny Deila left the club.
Newly promoted Fulham are looking to reinforce their team as they look to avoid the much-dreaded relegation in their first year back in the big time.
Like Southampton, they see Armstrong as a risk worth taking – even if quotes of £6 million are true.
With players like James Maddison valued for £20 million, it would be a no-brainer for any Premier League side looking to sign him.
Celtic may still be nurturing hopes of luring Armstrong to Parkhead – this should be settled sooner rather than later.
